Tom, Oliver and son Olly are the fourth generation 4.5 jobs safeguarded of Harrisons to farm at Water Lane End Farm in Tarbock Green, Knowsley. The family currently farm 160 hectares of cereals and oil seed rape and operate a land based contracting business for other farmers and public sector organisations.
The family identified a range of traditional red brick, slate roofed buildings that dated back to the turn of the last century that had nothing left to offer to modern agriculture. ICEP were approached to assist in developing alternative uses for the buildings.
The project has created over 4000 sq ft of office space, a new wildlife pond and wild flower meadow area, with occupancy levels above 80% in the first six months and 12 jobs created by the work space.
"The help and guidance by ICEP has enabled us to transform redundant farm
buildings into a thriving rural office complex currently occupied by eight diverse
companies providing employment and opportunities for their staff and
a positive future for our own farming business." - Oliver Harrison
The confidence created by the success of the office development has levered in additional investment for the core business which now has six employees.
