Martin's Turf Growers and Suppliers

ICEP - The Integrated Countryside and Environment Plan - is an 'umbrella' programme that aims to maximise the benefits of Objective One and other funding for the rural and environmental sectors on Merseyside. Supported by a partnership of over 80 organisations.

The project is based at the Business Resource Centre on Knowsley Industrial Park and has successfully assisted hundreds of rural businesses over the last five year, safeguarding and creating over 400 jobs and facilitating £10.5 million of inward investment.

Martins Turf Growers and Suppliers is one of the businesses that has benefited from an ICEP facilitated grant application. Based at Tarbock Green the 25 acre holding received just under £12000 of grant towards the cost of installing electricity to there site and the purchase of a soil segregator to allow the screening and use of soil that would normally be destined for land fill.

Martin Patrick proprietor said "We have tried for a number of grants and awards in the past but have always dropped out or been turned down, ICEP have provided a fantastic service, guiding us through what can be a complex process"

The grant has allowed year round production at the site and full time employment for Martins Staff members.
