Fir Tree Farm, Kings Moss near Rainford
This permissive bridleway provides off-road hacking and forms a circular route with local lanes. Features that can be seen include habitats being managed for the benefit of ground nesting birds such as skylarks. Lapwing breed in some of the fields and can be seen displaying in spring. The bridleway links to a new community woodland with permissive footpaths. Within it are features such as a wooden henge, pond, flower-rich glade and wooden bears. Willows are also being grown on the farm for the production of baskets and willow sculptures.
